Your Excellencies the Presidents of Bosnia, Ladies and Gentlemen:
I feel overwhelmed with joy to be here among this distinguished group.
And it is a great honor to be among the lucky few who were selected to receive the Women Initiative for Peace Award.
My sincere thanks go to you, Your Excellencies the Presidents of Bosnia for sponsoring this event and to the Tenanbaum Foundation, its members and staff who work tirelessly for the promotion of peace on our planet.
I want to acknowledge two important Mentors in my Life, the Grand Mufti of Syria Dr. Ahmad Hassoun, and the Director of Religions and Diplomacy in George Mason University Dr. Marc Gopin.
To me, this award I just received, is not a reward for past
endeavor, but rather an incentive to multiply my efforts during the
days and years God may give me in the promotion of peace based on
justice among members of the human family everywhere, and especially
in our part of the world where justice, I am convinced, is the most
reliable ally of a durable peace.
" Thank you.
