I am a Syrian living in the UK since 1997 and I have always looked forward to see successful Syrians abroad, people who can at least inspire others to be successful. I do not understand why someone will be unhappy and attack your success just because you love your country?! If they beleive in freedom as they claim they do then it is up to you to like or dislike whoever you want. It seems to me that these people have criminal records and cannot go back to their country.
