Message:  I am reading Ayiitey's Toppling Dictatore. In it, he cites "Ayittey's Law" which is that successful revolutions are predictable. There is a confluence of forces needed.
Those who wish to see democratic plualism in Syria have a long way to go yet, if Ayiitey's Law holds.

Message:  Hi Hindo! I hope you had a happy birthday yesterday. I wish there were more Hind Kabawats in Syria, it would have helped to make the country a lot better a lot faster. Always in the middle, defending what you believe is right, without worrying about what others think, yet, not hurting anyone's beliefs. You really are a source of inspiration Hindo.

Subject:  Thank you Hind
Message:  Dear Hind
I want to thank you for all you do for our beloved Syria and the Syrian people.
Your dedication and unconditional support to the cause is exemplary.
Your unbiased love of country crosses all the sectarian, ethnic, regional and class divides, and for that I admire your ability to nurture such love, while I am sure you had your share of adverse experiences from the existence of those divides.
If I were to compare anyone in Syria to Mandela, it would be you in your spiritual, social, political and patriotic views and doctrine.
This opinion of you Hind has been reinforced over the years by reading your writings on many occasions and different subject matters, and more lately with your profuse comments and articles about the current Syrian uprising.
Having said what I hope is enough to convey to you my appreciation for you and your constant unselfish giving to the Syrian cause, I would like to make a few comments about your subject essay "Saving Syria" and some prior articles, essays and comments I read in the past.
I do that with full due respect for your ideas, beliefs and opinions

Dear Hind,

I have just read about your work in the link below:

I was born and reared in Northern Ireland and am at least a 12th generation Ulster Protestant. My family had been in Ireland on our farm since the early 17th century. I was one of a very small minority of Irish children who were fortunate enough to be educated in one of only two mixed Protestant / Roman Catholic schools in Northern Ireland and I made many Roman Catholic friends amongst my fellow pupils. In my case this was in the 1960's. It gave us a unique opportunity to mix with "the other side" and we all grew up with mutual friendship and respect. It raised us above the violence and showed us the futility of it.

I am glad to hear that some children in the Palestine and in Israel are getting the same opportunity as I did. It will definitely work as a means to ending emnity between them. It worked for us. It is the future.

Later in life, when I lectured at Edinburgh University I had a PhD student from the Lebanon, one from Jordan, one from Iran and one from Northern Ireland all at the same time. All were from countries with conflict, but all were good people and good friends with eachother and with myself. That helped to broaden my outlook even further. Your slogan "God is too big for any one religion" is so true and your quote "Everyone has two homelands, his own and Syria" is also in the true spirit of Ireland.

God Bless

Subject:  Excellent Role Model
Message:  Dear Hind,
I genuinely appreciate your assiduous efforts to foster inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue. It’s obviously arduous to advocate this kind of dialogue amid all the global barriers and impediments which render peace and peaceful dialogue among civilizations onerous, and in worst cases even farfetched. With the efforts of hardworking, devoted and perseverant intellectuals like you, the sacrifices of peace advocates all over the world didn’t fade away for nothing. It is rare, nowadays, to find someone as conscientious, dexterous, tactful and assiduous as you are in fending for your beliefs and thoughts. As a graduate student from the Middle East, I would say: you're one of the very few global role models who seriously represent integrity with national pride and global openness simultaneously.
Wish you best of luck and more success!
Suzan

Message:  Dear Hind,
I really enjoyed going through your distinguished website. It reflects your uniqueness. I liked your expertise in designing it in a refined & simple way far from any sophistication. The personal section summarizes well who you are! Every word, saying, proverb, or idea posted is a driving force in the push for a better world!
Your activities are very interesting! I am fascinated to see an arab woman carrying in her voice a dream of change!
It's well known that "Those who have been given graces, much is expected of them!" So I wish you all the luck dear Hind!

Message:  Dear Hind
Thank you so much for hosting the Executive members of CCMW on Sunday May 24, after our "Women Who Inspire" event at the Noor Cultural Centre. It was a pleasure to meet you, especially when my sister in law Jamelie had spoken so highly of you. It was almost as if we knew you. Your "White Gourmet Holiday Event" sounded so wonderful. The Centre for Diversity is a very important step in bridging the gap of the many different cultures. I am glad to be associated with such wonderful people. We also look forward to working with Juday Csillag in the near future. I do hope we can get together again soon. If you are ever in London, Ontario please feel free to contact me. Our door will always be open to you. Take care.
Warm regards
Najet

Message:  “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the
silence of our friends.” With these incisive words, Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. diplomatically expressed his frustration with the
prevailing silent acquiescence and tacit consent to America’s egregious
discrimination against people of color. Like his mentor, Mahatma
Gandhi, Dr. King was assassinated, but both men will live forever in
the pantheon of human dignity, civil rights, and social justice.
Let’s hope that their exemplary acts of selfless, courageous pacifism will
inspire all of us to appropriate levels of moral outrage and
activism.

Best regards,

You were a smash hit this evening; it is seldom in Houston that a speaker is loved and adored, and truly you were tonight. I said to Rosemary you are the Gandhi, the Mandela, the Syrian leader of today! As many said, you lead from your heart and I rarely see a speaker so magnetize the audience. Thank you for your courageous presentation, for your strength, heart and beauty. We dearly love you.

Sincerely,

Tyra
